Strawberry Smoothie: Dr. Weil's Recipe of the Day
Strawberry Smoothie
2 servings
This is a basic smoothie recipe that can modified in many ways. Use any kind of fruit juice as a substitute for the cranberry juice. Use yogurt or silken tofu as a substitute for the buttermilk. You can even use frozen blueberries instead of the strawberries!
1 cup fresh strawberries, rinsed and hulled, or frozen strawberries, partially thawed
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup frozen cranberry-juice concentrate
2 ice cubes, crushed
1 tsp. sugar, or to taste
In a blender, combine all ingredients; blend until smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.
