Hello Friend,

Barbecue Sauce out of a Jar? I dont think so!

Jack Daniels Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:

Jack Daniels, about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, or to taste
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke, optional
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, or to taste

Preparation:

Combine onion, garlic and Jack Daniels in a 3 quart saucepan. Cook until translucent, about 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients, bring to boil. Simmer uncovered until reduced and thickened, about 15 to 25 minutes.

Dave's Barbecue Sauce

This BBQ sauce has got kind of an Oriental twist to it. It has also got a little rum in it! Use it like you would any BBQ sauce.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup dark rum
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot, chopped finely
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup peach jam or orange marmalade
1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 dash black pepper

Preparation:

Combine ingredients in a bowl and blend thoroughly until the brown sugar has dissolved. Pour into a saucepan and bring to just a boil. Chill and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
